Scheduling, insurance, testing and what to expect. If your question is not here, call 718-814-4500 and we will answer it directly.
Premier Neurology is a specialty practice focused on diagnosing and treating disorders of the brain, spine and nervous system. We care for adults across the full range of neurological conditions — headache, epilepsy, memory disorders, stroke, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, neuropathy and balance problems — from the first evaluation through long-term management.
Many patients come to us on referral from a primary care physician, but you are welcome to schedule directly. If your insurance plan requires a referral or authorisation, our staff will help you obtain it before your visit so that nothing delays your appointment.
Call the office at 718-814-4500 or submit the request form on our contact page. A care coordinator will reach out within one business day to confirm a time and let you know what to bring.
If the visit concerns spells, seizures or tremor, a phone video of an episode is often the single most useful thing you can bring.
New patient visits generally run 45 to 60 minutes, and cognitive evaluations often take a full hour. Neurology depends heavily on the history, so the first visit is deliberately unhurried.
Premier Neurology accepts most major insurance plans, Medicare, and a range of managed care programmes. Because plan networks change, please call the office with your specific plan details and we will verify your coverage and benefits before your visit.
Yes. We offer transparent self-pay pricing for patients without coverage or who prefer not to use insurance, and we can arrange flexible payment plans. Ask for the self-pay rate when you schedule.
Some imaging studies and specialty medications require prior authorisation. Our staff files these requests on your behalf and follows them through to approval. We will tell you if a delay is expected.
Bills can be paid by phone, in person at the office, or online. Call 718-814-4500 with any billing question and we will walk through the statement with you.
EEG, EMG and nerve conduction studies, and formal cognitive assessment are all performed in the office. We coordinate MRI, CT and other imaging through local imaging centres, including handling the insurance authorisation, and we order and interpret the laboratory studies that support a neurological diagnosis.
Yes. We provide access to in-office infusion therapy for neurological conditions including multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, CIDP and other immune-mediated disorders — so patients can be treated in a familiar setting rather than a hospital infusion suite.
Nerve conduction and EMG findings are often discussed with you during the same visit. EEG, imaging and laboratory results are generally available within several days, and we will either call you or review them at a follow-up appointment.
Yes. We offer secure telehealth visits for follow-ups, medication management, test result reviews and many second opinions. A first visit for a new neurological problem usually needs to be in person so that a full examination can be performed.
Yes, and it is a substantial part of the practice. Send us your records and imaging in advance; we will review them thoroughly before your appointment and give you a clear, written assessment — whether that confirms the original diagnosis or not.
Call 911 immediately for sudden weakness, facial droop, difficulty speaking, sudden vision loss, a first-ever seizure, a seizure lasting more than five minutes, or a sudden worst-ever headache. For urgent but non-emergency changes, call the office — we hold same-day slots for established patients whose symptoms are changing.
Yes. We work closely with primary care physicians and with specialists in hematology, oncology, pain management, physical medicine and rehabilitation, and we send a written summary of every visit back to your referring physician.
The office is located inside the Astoria Medical Center at 25-31 30th Road, with accessible facilities and parking available. If you need any specific accommodation, tell us when you schedule and we will arrange it.
Absolutely, and for memory, seizure and movement disorder evaluations we actively encourage it. Someone who observes your symptoms day to day frequently provides the most important information in the visit.
